Description

I'm not particularly sure what brought this drawing on...

Perhaps it was conflicts within myself that brought this on. A lot of symbolism is portrayed within this piece. It is the battle between one's good half and dark half--good and evil. On his right half, which brandishes a white wing and a golden halo, he carries a white, shining sword; the sword of justice and protection. The wristband shows his rebellious nature, but is worn on the right to show that his rebellion does not breach ways of light. As for his left half, which is decorated with a spiked iron halo and a black wing, he has in his clutches a black sword; a blade of blood, pain, and death. But notice that his arm is covered in a demonic blight; the torment that he causes is not his intention. The X on his chest is the representation of the pain that he feels within himself, and above the X hangs a ring on a chain, a reminder of the love he once had. Before him are roses at his feet, gifts from those who don't realize their demise, and a tear slides down his cheek in agony. The plane of existence he hails from is different from ours, as shown by the vortex. He wanders, day and night, trying to find the answer to his question: what am I?

This is me. Or at least, my conflicts in drawing form. This must be the most metaphorical drawing I have created yet. I feel that it is strangely powerful, and exerts a mystical, yet depressing feeling. This was the representation of me and who I am within, or what I perceive myself as.

I hope you enjoy it. It took me long nights to finish this.
